Knowledge and analytical techniques are constantly changing in the fields of science. Because of these and future projected changes, it is important that those in the sciences not only learn basic information but also gain expertise in solving problems which occur in individual scientific fields. One goal of OSUSIM is to provide a series of simulations, case studies, problems, problem-solving situations that will be flexible and permit a wide variety of experiments of differing complexity. OSUSIM has been initiated from the concepts funded from a National Science Foundation grant in the late 1970's. In that particular study, problems related to foods were presented and the simulation served as a technical service. As we have gained more knowledge and have a greater expertise, a greater depth of instructional interaction has been developed. Evidence of the potential and possibilities is shown with these simulations. Additional interactions may be posted at this site by contacting OSUSimLab. |
